There's no finished skirt, as my overlocker is on the fritz. The shaped seam, side seams are done but I can't insert the zip until I overlock the edges. Yes I could zigzag, but I prefer not to these days.
I need to figure out what is wrong with it or burn it with fire.
Or get it serviced.
You don't realise how wonderful they are till they stop working. :-(
ReplyDeleteThis one has been fussy since I got it - it's a low end rebadged Janome.
DeleteMy old machine was a 2nd, 3rd or 4th hand (early 1970s model) and apart from when it wouldn't stop sewing (got that fixed) it was a solid little workhorse. Literally a solid little thing.
Have you tried the "unthread it, brush out the dust and re-thread it" method? Normally works for me. Hopefully it is something that simple.
ReplyDeleteI switched the brand of thread and it seems to improve, though still gathering - but at least not as badly as it was before. With the other thread it was still hideous with the 4 tension dials at zero.
DeleteI miss my old Babylock EA-605, but at 40+ years old (I got it 2nd 2nd hand), and well used, it was at the end of it's life. Am tempted to hunt one down on ebay!
