The theme for July is "Sew your wish", and considering how much of what I sew has been purely what I want (a new costume for an event) rather than clothing that I need for work, I'm wondering what I can make that fits the theme but isn't self indulgent.
I've been wishing for a summer dress, and although it's winter now, spring arrives suddenly in Sydney and it's been 39C in September before now.
Go for your Spring dress. Spring will be here before we know it (hopefully - I am shivering under a blanket on the lounge now but it is sunny outside)
ReplyDeleteIsn't the sunshine wonderful! but brrrr it's cold too. Mind you the sunniest days in London's winter were the coldest too.
DeleteIsn't that always the way? I end up making my summer outfits in winter and my winter outfits in summer because that's the first opportunity I get to make something.
ReplyDeleteBut at least with summer outfits, you can get away with wearing them in winter and spring with some stockings and a cardigan. :)
You've reminded me I need to moisturise my legs, cos I don't do stockings even in deepest winter! And I haven't work a cardi since I left london *cough* years ago. I just feel frumpy in them, and it's not cold enough for me to value warmth over frump.
