overthinking sleeve options

Something else I've considered as an alternative to sleeves is the sleeveless dress with button on capelet.  This doesn't resolve the sleeve ending in an unflattering place but it does provide coverage for the office. The main drawback is that I'd need more fabric.

The style of caplet integration that I like the most so far is this Mail order pattern. I like that the cape is buttoned on but the volume starts adjacent to the bust not over it.

 

Vogue 7706 is a little more problematic with making my bust point close to the widest.

The other pattern idea that I can easily adapt is mail order 9287.
